(NYSE: IP) announced today that it is rescheduling its previously announced
Investor Day from Feb. 18 to June 9. The company made the decision to postpone
the event, which was originally intended to focus solely on its industrial
packaging business, in order to provide a broader company update.

Attendance will be limited to invited members of the investment community.
However, the event will be webcast live, and all interested parties will be
invited to listen via International Paper's Internet site at
http://www.internationalpaper.com by clicking on the Investors tab and then

available on the Web site beginning approximately four hours after the
presentation.
